Exedy Racing has new clutches for the Dakota 3.9L V6 & Jeep 4.0L straight 6. These clutches can be installed at Marken Performance. Exedy Stage 1 is an organic clutch (# 01800) with torque capacity of 314 ft/lbs at wheels. Exedy Stage 2 is a cerametallic clutch (# 01950) with torque capacity of 374 ft/lbs at wheels. These kits were revealed at the November 2016 SEMA show (see video below). These products are both better than stock as they have higher clamp loads and improved friction material.
Stage 1 clutch discs have spring center dampers to reduce drivetrain shock and provide smooth clutch engagement. The Stage 2 design is perfect for people off roading or mudding (as water will not ruin the Stage 2 clutch) and EXEDY Stage 2 cerametallic clutch discs have sprung center dampers to reduce the impact and shock loads transmitted through the drivetrain.
Both clutch kits fit: 1992-1999 Dakota 3.9L, 1994-2001 Cherokee 4.0L and 1994-2006 Wrangler 4.0L.
