Edelbrock’s new Signature Series valve cover, part # 4477 thru Marken Performance, fits 1962-88 American and 1962-2001 South American in line-6 motors, from 194 to 292 cubic inches. It is 3.5” tall, has 2-baffled breather holes with 1 PCV Hole, is stamped steel with an embossed Edelbrock logo, and is chrome plated. Notable vehicles that used this line of engine included the 1962-67 Chevy II, ’67 Pontiac Firebird, and 1964-67 Chevelle.
Though largely ordinary in comparison with other six-cylinder engines of the day, these third-generation motors differed from previous design in that they could share several components with the SBC and BBC V-8s, including manual transmission bellhousings, automatics, and starter motors.
