Auto Meter now has adapted many of their gauges with GPS receivers that can yield the position, and many that can automatically derive velocity or direction of movement from two or more satellite position measurements.
For example, Auto Meter’s Ultra Lite GPS speedometer (Part #4480), combines the functions of a speedometer and GPS with Rally Nav display, making it perfect for rally-type applications or driving to Marken Performance (also part #3982). Featuring Auto Meter’s full sweep precision stepper motor movement, the gauge also has resettable trip odometer and includes a 10Hz GPS antenna. The gauge displays time/date, cumulative distance, trip distance, GPS coordinates with heading info, compass and peak speed recall.
The AutoMeter GPS speedometers are designed to monitor speeds on or off road by interpreting data from the high-speed antenna. This technology eliminates the need to calibrate for tire size or gear changes.
Because it is all calculated by satellite signals, there is no need to interact with the transmission or drivetrain at all, which simplifies installation.
Kit # 1350 includes a GPS Speedo with the following features: resettable trip odometer, time/date, cumulative distance (odometer), trip distance (tripmeter), gps coordinates with heading info, compass, and peak speed recall. Includes 10 Hz GPS Antenna. The kit is striking white dials, lustrous chrome bezels and domed lenses. These instruments are illuminated using perimeter incandescent lighting. Red and green bulb covers are included to change backlight color. Additional bulb cover and LED replacement bulb options available separately.
The gauges are built in the USA and tested to Auto Meter’s vibration and shock standards that have made them popular with enthusiasts.
