The AEM short ram intake part # 21-746WR fits the 2015 Volkswagen Golf 1.8T, GTI 2.0T, and Golf R 2.0T. On the dyno the 2015 VW Golf, GTI, and Golf R AEM short ram intake produced an estimated additional 13 horsepower at a commonly used 3,800 rpm when installed via Marken Performance on a 2015 Volkswagen GTI 2.0T with manual transmission. Equally beneficial to acceleration and performance is the estimated gain of 26 lb-ft of torque at 4,400 rpm. In addition to simply increasing horsepower, lowering restriction and increasing airflow will help the turbo charger to spool up quicker which results in improved acceleration and drivability.
A mandrel bent aluminum air intake tube coupled to a free flowing AEM Dryflow synthetic air filter. The aluminum air intake tube is protected with a wrinkle-red powder coat to compliment the traditional red GTI stripe and interior highlights. Additionally, the short ram air intake system incorporates an application specific powder coated heat shield which blocks hot air from rising off the exhaust manifold into the air filter, as well as sealing against the car’s hood.
