Flowmaster® part # 817515 is a new Outlaw series cat-back that fits 2005-2010 Ford Mustang with 4.6L or 5.4L engine, including hardtop and convertible.
This bolt-on DOR (Dual Out Rear) emissions-legal system for cars with the 4.6L or 5.4L V8 engines features a pair of race proven Outlaw series mufflers and dual mandrel bent 2.5” inch pipes. The aggressive, loud outlaw mufflers are 2.5” in and 3” out and can be installed at Marken Performance. The system is built out of 409S stainless steel and utilizes 4” polished stainless steel flowmaster embossed tips. This exhaust system also fits convertible and GT500 models.

Proper exhaust-pipe size is a function of both engine output and displacement. The higher the engine’s output, the larger the pipes should be. Likewise, larger engine displacements call for bigger pipes. But you don’t want to become a victim of “More’s Law,” either: While up to a point reducing exhaust restriction generally helps both power and gas mileage, going too large can over-scavenge an engine and actually decrease engine output as well as fuel efficiency. To avoid becoming a restriction, all muffler and catalytic converter inlet and outlet sizes should correspond to the exhaust pipe sizes, and design your exhaust system to use the minimum number of bends.
