Has your stock transmission let you down? BD Diesel has upgraded Ford, Chevy Duramax Allison and Dodge Cummins transmissions to give you ease of mind when towing or racing. BD Diesel has improved the durability and performance of these transmissions in demanding, high-torque diesel applications. These transmissions can handle double the torque of stock. BD manufactures the toughest torque converter in the industry, with custom-designed cast stators, furnace-brazed fins, double and triple clutches and stamp-forged covers (stronger than billet steel!). FORD Automatic

 To some, it is a challenge to simply disassemble and assemble a Ford transmission. For BD, the challenge was to improve the durability and performance of these transmissions in demanding, high-torque diesel applications. The smooth shifting associated with the stock Ford transmission is the result of slippage that produces heat and accelerates wear – we add tighter clutch packs that provide a quicker shift and 30%-40% more clutch material with additional steels are designed into each BD transmission. 
 We improve the internal lubrication by adding high power boost valves, rework the front pump and add lube circuits. Improved bearing designs plus supports, sprags and planetaries are upgraded with sure-loc snap rings being used.  A re-programmed accumulator body with improved valve designs, higher line pressure and enhanced oil flow creates positive clutch application. Solenoids are tested and new ones installed - hard wiring provides high temperature resistance.  A BD deep-sump aluminum pan is also fitted, which increases oil capacity for cooler operation and improves case strength to prevent torque causing internal oil pressure leakage.
 Finally, each transmission’s shift pattern and oil pressure is tested on our transmission dynamometer then shipped to you in a virtually indestructible molded plastic container. Our transmission packages for the 1990-2003 7.3L E4OD include an auxiliary frame mounted full flow filter kit.   
 For ultimate strength and reliability, we recommend you match your new BD transmission with a TorqForce performance torque converter.
 We also offer Build-it transmission rebuild kits with our modified parts for those that want to build their own performance transmissions.
 We now are offering the 2008 and newer 5R110 Ford 6.4L Diesel transmission as an exchange along with a new torque converter.

 The introduction of the Allison 1000 transmission to the diesel truck market restored confidence in consumers that an automatic transmission can indeed handle the demands of exhaust braking without any electronic addition.  But while the Allison is suitable for stock applications, we’ve found that it does have its limitations— particularly when flywheel horsepower exceeds 370 horsepower. That’s when the stock clutch packs can begin to slip, putting the computer in the dreaded “limp home” mode and once a clutch has slipped, the next time it will slip easier and easier.  At BD, we make several modifications to the Allison to meet the demands of high-performance and heavy-duty usage. A new convertor lock up valve, updated lube & regulator and pressure release spring has been installed.  With either the C1 or C2 clutches being engaged in all gears, this creates a weak link in the transmission. 
 We designed 20% more friction surface and use high energy clutch material. We have also added extra frictions in the remaining clutches to improve holding capacity.  We have modified power pistons hydraulics and return springs are changed while main line oil pressure is raised to increase clamping force on the clutch packs.  If you’ve modified, or plan to modify your Duramax, the first step should be a BD Allison transmission.

   BD Diesel now has upgraded 68RFE Automatic Transmissions for the 2007.5-17 Dodge 6.7L Cummins diesel available via Marken Performance.  Part # 1064262 is for 2 wheel drive and part # 1064264 is for 4 wheel drive vehicles.  This automatic transmission comes with BD’s exclusive valve body separator plate gasket, increased clutch count, and much more: 

• Hard anodized valve body and new solenoid pack installed in every unit
• Custom valve body separator plate with gaskets increases line pressure while stopping internal cross leaks
• Heavy duty cam & roller design low reverse one way clutch
• New 4C billet spring retainer
• Steel girdle added to 2C piston to allow for more clutches and broader apply area
• BD durable QT100 pressure plates allow for increased clutch counts and reduce deflection and distortion within the clutch drum
• Clutch count increased to hold high torque level - Over Drive 17% increase, Under Drive 20%, 2C 33% increase
• BD reinforced accumulator plate
• TCC limit valve machined and sleeved to address high wear area with in pump
• BD Deep sump oil pan adds extra fluid and cooling capacity while reducing case flex
