Crane Cams has specifically designed direct fit cams for 4.8—6.0L LS Series engines to maximize power while utilizing stock valve train, without exceeding the travel of a stock valve spring. The goal was to maintain near stock idle characteristics, vacuum and drivability while increasing torque and horsepower throughout the RPM range.  Reserve yours from Marken Performance.  

Dyno testing on the 4.8L and 5.3L engines have shown significant gains over the stock camshaft using the PowerMaxLS™ Direct Fit cams #1449501 and #1449541:

4.8L engine using Crane Cams 1449501 gained 30 lbs/ft of torque and 37 HP over the stock cam
5.3L engine using Crane Cams 1449501 gained 40 lbs/ft of torque and 48 HP over the stock truck cam
4.8L engine using Crane Cams 1449541 gained 37 lbs/ft of torque and 44 HP over the stock cam
5.3L engine using Crane Cams 1449541 gained 45 lbs/ft of torque and 55 HP over the stock truck cam
 

Both dyno engine platforms were stock design using stock cylinder heads, cam, 1.70:1 rockers and intake manifold, but were equipped with the following components: 1 ¾” diameter tube headers, Accufab manual throttle body, Meziere electric water pump, 40 lbs./hr. injectors, and a stand alone EFI system.
