MSD ignition coil # 8242 (82428 for 8) fits 4.6L/5.4L 1999-2004 SOHC 2 Valve engines. # 8243 (82438 for 8) fits 4.6L/5.4L 2005-2009 3 Valve Engines. # 8244 (82448 for 8) fits 4.6L/5.4L 1999-2004 DOHC 4 Valve engines.
Part # 8248 (82488 for 8) fits the 2011+ 5.0 ltr Ford Coyote 44,000 volt .57 ohm ignition coil (20% above stock). All are available from Marken Performance. MSD Ignition's Multiple Spark Coils (MSC) will fit in place of the stock coils and connect directly to the factory connectors.
ACCEL decided to do a Before and After Dyno Comparison on a 2 Valve 2004 Mustang GT. The baseline dyno test netted 236.9 hp and 273.0 ft-lbs of torque. After installing the Accel ignition coils we got 243.6 hp and 280.0 ft-lbs of torque, a solid gain of 6.7 hp and 7.0 ft-lbs.
