Canton Racing Products has a new oil pan for the “Dart LS Next” cylinder block.  The LS Next block uses most popular LS components, like the crankshaft and cylinder heads, but has a conventional Chevy small-block bottom end to help eliminate the oil windage problems associated with the deep-skirt design of the factory LS block. The Dart block also features wider oil pan rails, so a traditional small block oil pan won’t work, leaving the Canton Racing oil pan unique to the LS Next block.  This pan is constructed of .100 aluminum and also features trap-door baffles and a removable windage anti-slosh baffle.  Reserve yours from Marken Performance.  

“It’s available in either front or rear sump, and also a dry-sump application,” says Jeff Behuniak, marketing coordinator for Canton.  The Canton pan also features a “Power Pouch” pro-style kickout.  “Because the LS Next is an unskirted block, the pan design is more crucial,” adds Behuniak. “A regular pan would negate the advantages of the LS Next block. You need a place for the oil to go so it doesn’t bounce back on the crank.”
